Memorial Day 2015 in The Grove
Summer has unofficially begun with the kickoff of Grove City’s Memorial Day Weekend! Grove City offers numerous community events taking place throughout the weekend that all Parkway Village residents can enjoy!
Here are just a few events taking place this Memorial Day Weekend in the Grove.
Friday May 22nd: Grove City Community Winds Summer Sizzle Concert Series Kickoff
This Friday will kick start Grove City’s Summer Sizzle Concert Series with a performance of “Salute America’s Finest” as tribute to our veterans. The concert will take place at 7 PM in Grove City’s Town Center on the corner of Park Street and Broadway. The local ensemble of musicians will play classical patriotic compositions to honor America’s military, and will be a great start to the weekend!
Saturday May 23rd: First Farmers Market
This Saturday will host the first Farmers Market of 2015! From 8 AM to 12 PM, fresh local produce, flowers, plants and homemade baked goods will fill the corners of Park Street and Broadway as part of this open-air market.
Saturday May 23rd: Southwest Franklin County Historical Society Open House
Saturday will mark the start of the May to September summer season for Grove City’s Century Village. Visitors can tour the historic log house and school, open from 2 to 4 PM.
Monday May 25th: Memorial Day Parade
This Monday, American Legion Paschall Post 164 and Veterans of Foreign War 8198 will host the Memorial Day parade and services for Grove City. The parade will begin at 11 AM from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, and will continue to march down Broadway. There will be a short ceremony at City Hall, and the parade will continue onto Grove City Cemetery for the Memorial Day service.
