Fourth of July is almost here, and that means warm weather, backyard barbecues and lots and lots of fireworks! No matter what part of Columbus you’ll be in, there are many options of where to show your pride this holiday weekend! Here are just a few of the celebrations happening in the Columbus-area this year.

The Columbus Symphony

If you want an amazing soundtrack with your fireworks display, don’t miss the Columbus Symphony playing patriotic favorites and Sousa marches at the Columbus Commons! They will be performing on Saturday, July 1st at 8:00 p.m.

Grove City

Celebrate July 4th in Grove City at Grove City High school this year! There will be live entertainment provided by High South, an international harmony-rock band, from 6 to 8:00 p.m., followed by Grove City Christian High School performing patriotic favorites 8:30 to 9:45 p.m., until the fireworks show

Upper Arlington

Spend a whole day full of fun Independence Day activities in Upper Arlington this year on Tuesday, July 4th. Catch the morning parade at 9:00 a.m. beginning at Northwest Boulevard and Zollinger Road. It runs south crossing Lane Avenue and ending at the intersection of Northwest Boulevard and North Star Road.

Make sure to attend the party in the park at 5:00 p.m. with live music before the fireworks show! The show begins at 10:00 p.m. and you can tune into 93.3 to listen along live.

Clintonville

Start your Independence Day early in Clintonville this year with a 4-mile walk or run at the Whetstone Park of Roses at 8:00 a.m. and also a breakfast available at the shelter house from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Hang out in the main field of the park at 6:00 p.m. and listen to live music while enjoying vendors before the fireworks begin at 10:00 p.m.

Red, White and Boom

Last, but not least, the big Red, White and Boom is always a fun celebration for anyone in Columbus! Beginning in 1981, this is now the largest fireworks display in Ohio where over 400,000 people will attend! You can head downtown early in the day for a spot close to the river near the Veteran’s Memorial. There are vendors, music and other activities going on throughout the day! Don’t worry; if you can’t make it early, it’s easy to catch a view of this huge fireworks display anywhere in the near vicinity.
